Privacy Policy for Services
As your chaplain, I hold what’s called “double confidentiality” for any services that involve listening to information that you share or reading written communications from you. The first aspect of this confidentiality refers to the fact that I will not share any nature of our relationship, up to and including that we are working together at all, with anyone, and all content shared in our sessions stays within sessions and will not be shared verbally or in writing with anyone else. The limitation of this aspect of confidentiality is that as a mandatory reporter, I am obligated and feel that it is important to report and information regarding the abuse or mistreatment of minors. I am not obligated to do so but also choose to report any information regarding elder mistreatment or abuse.
The second aspect of “double confidentiality” is the fact that I will not, without your expressed desire, bring up content shared in a previous session in the time that you book with me.
Limitations of Services
As an interfaith chaplain, I’m trained to listen and to help you reflect. I do not solve your problems. I am not acting the capacity of a midwife, a job for which I do hold licensing in ME and NH. I am not a credentialled psychologist or psychiatrist, and these services should not be construed as therapy. If you need immediate assistance, please check out an online therapy service like BetterHelp. If you’re local to me, I am happy to make a recommendation to you for therapy services. If you’re in crisis, I will provide you with hotline or local hospital information if you desire.
The following content regards my Wix website, online payments, and online profiles, should you choose to create one. The language is standard “legalese”, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you need clarity.
